Tired of lying around at the beach? Curaçao has tons of activities for the more adventurous types. Among these, we highly recommend a visit to Curaçao’s highest peak: the Christoffelberg. Located in our largest national park, the Christoffel Park, the top of this mountain offers you a perfect 360° view of the whole island. Ascend these 372 meters (1,220′) during the day or ask for a guided trip beneath the starry skies. The heat can be quite intense, so if your planning on hiking during the daytime, get there as early as you can, visitors will not be permitted to climb after 10 am.

Not into such a challenging hike? No problem, the Christoffel Park has 7 other hiking trails, each offering a different difficulty level. Teeming with wildlife, you will have the opportunity to see rare species, including the Curaçao White Tailed deer (of which there are only about 250 left).
While strolling around you can also brush up on some of our local history and culture by paying a visit to the Savonet Museum. This former plantation house is part of one of the oldest and most intact plantations on the island.

The park also organizes special activities, including: safaris, deer watching, animal presentations, cave excursions, a guided park tour and many special trips like occasional full moon walks and sunrise safari’s.
Christoffel park is open every day from 6 am to 3 pm, the ticket sales counter and entrance to the park and/ or museum closes at 1:30 pm.

Whether you want to spend the whole day at the park, or join in with one specific activity, make sure to add this national treasure to your to-do list!
